Ashley HomeStore of Medford Partners With Hope to Dream Program to Donate 122 Beds to Almeda Fire Victims

MEDFORD, Ore. – The devastating Almeda fire started on September 8th in Southern Oregon, burning more than 3,000 acres and destroying 2,357 residential structures which caused thousands of people to become homeless. After hearing an estimated 50% of the Phoenix-Talent School District lost their homes in the fire, Ashley HomeStore of Medford, Oregon teamed up with Ashley HomeStore’s Hope to Dream Program to provide beds to children who were affected by the fire.

“We are truly devasted by the loss caused by the fires in our hometown, affecting many of our friends, family, and employees. Very quickly the community came together to provide many essential items, and we knew we had to find a way to help,” stated Brent Loogman, Ashley HomeStore Licensee. “Through our Hope to Dream program, that provides beds to children in need, we were able to quickly donate 22 beds to children that lost theirs in the fire. It became apparent that more beds are needed and we now have 100 additional beds on the way. We greatly appreciate the support of 50 beds from the Ashley HomeStore/Stoneledge Furniture team in California.”

With more than 2,000 families losing their homes and furniture to this fire, Ashley HomeStore and Hope to Dream know there are still many children without a bed to sleep on. Ashley HomeStore of Medford is asking the community to come together to help donate more beds. A GOFUNDME account has been started to help the children in the surrounding community. Ashley HomeStore will match up to $5,000 of funds raised towards additional beds. To donate, visit: https://www.gofundme.com/f/almeda-fire-mattress-fundraiser.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to all those affected by these devasting wild fires,” stated Kurt Haines, President of Stoneledge Furniture LLC. “We are grateful that we can support our local Ashley Homestore Partner with additional beds to meet the needs of the families that are dealing with so much loss at this time.”

Hope to Dream was founded in 2010 on the guiding principle, that every child deserves a good night’s sleep. A portion of the proceeds for every mattress purchased at a participating Ashley HomeStore in the U.S. and Canada helps pay for a bed for an underserved child. Over 525 Ashley HomeStores participate in the program to date and over 100,000 beds have been donated.

If you know a child (3-16 years old) that was impacted by the Almeda fires, please visit https://www.ahopetodream.com/ to nominate them for assistance from Ashley HomeStore’s Hope to Dream program.
